We Lived in North Ft. Myers from 1969 until 1973 when circumstances put myself and 2 brothers in a boys ranch in Palatka, Florida. There at Rodeheavers Boys Ranch. There we lived in houses that were called Cottages usually with 10-15 other boys ages ranging from 6 to 17. Our Daily routine was we woke up approximately 2 hours before the school bus arrived as we lived approximately 20 miles from town. We got ready by making our beds using the bathroom to get cleaned up prior to breakfast. then we brushed our teeth then set out to wait for the school bus.
After school we came home and had different work details some were trash pick up, yard work, farm work, or kitchen work. We later after dinner had study hall. Fair amount of play time then some TV then bedtime. I grew up until my Senior Year of High School I went to live with the Clark family.
As I played on the Football team from 9, 11 & 12th grades. PALATKA PANTHERS, Coached by Robert Lyle, Jim McCool, Tony Alred etc. We were a Band of Brothers. my team mates were a Once in a Lifetime Group... in 4 years of High School Football we compiled a record of Only Losing 2 Games!!
1981 was a season to Remember as we were the #1 FHSAA Football team after Winning the STATE 3A Championship. 14-0 furthermore Ranked #9 in the Nation!! John L Williams All-American running back & Jarvis Williams All-American Defensive-Back when onto FLORIDA GATORS and then NFL careers John L being a 1st Rd Draft to SEATTLE SEAHAWKS & Jarvis to MIAMI DOLPHINS...
I graduated with plans of a College Football Career, but instead joined the US ARMY June 1982, I was sent to FT. JACKSON, South Carolina for Basic & AIT in the 76Y SUPPLY Specialist field.I was sent to FT. McCLELLAN, ALABAMA until summer of 1983m then I re-Enlisted to goto FT. RICHARDSON, ALASKA. I continued until 1988 after approximately 6 Yrs. I switched to the Army National Guard until my Retirement of 20 Years HONORABLE Service. I maintained my job in the Supply Field in places like Washington, California, Louisiana. I also worked in the CIVIL SERVICE as a Technician in Supply & Maintenance.
I then Embarked on what has been my Primary Job & Joy the Thoroughbred Industry 1st as a Bloodstock agent, then as a breeder in Florida, Kentucky. I continue to maintain a small group of horses and train them as well. In 2013 I re-located to Lexington Kentucky until Present day.
My Love of ALL Creature big and small as it keeps me busy as I have 2 Horses: {Big Damage} 8H, {Stuart Scott} 8G, 1 dog {POOKY} 8F, 2 cats {Jack} 3M, {Silva} 2F. I Owned as Many as 21 Thoroughbreds at one time until 2018 I greatly Down-sized my operation due to lack of quality farm help.
